It wasn't "their" project. It's a joint project between Drexel, Sonatine, SrslySirius, and myself. It just happened to be that Thomas was the one who made the thread. It wasn't spam, it was announcing a new radio show, which would obviously interest many members here. It's not a competing show and shouldn't be a threat to you. You were even given a heads up about the show out of respect, and everybody agreed to have a conference call with you. This is supposed to be a free speech site. Obviously there's limits to that, but censoring content you simply don't like seems wrong. Especially when you explicitly posted that it was okay to promote third party projects. I understand deleting blatant and disrespectful spam, but this wasn't that.

I won't speak for other people but saying I can't talk about a project I'm involved in, when I've been a member of this community for over 10 years is insulting to me personally.

I don't censor content I dislike. There's tons of content posted here with which I disagree -- and even some insulting me -- which I leave up.

Spam is a different story. I can't just let that take place unhindered.

With that said, I'm no Mason Malmuth. If someone wants to promote their own site or project, I will let them do it, provided they have been contributing here.

However, if someone quits the forum, but only shows up to promote their projects, I can't allow that. I especially can't allow that from a user who spammed a few weeks ago in a similar fashion, and I had asked him not to do it again.

When you spam your own project taking place on another site, it's polite to give a heads up to the owner of the site where you're making the post. That didn't happen. It was just spammed without asking me if I was okay with it, only a few weeks after I had to delete other spam from him.

Oh, and the post I deleted of yours was part of a 3-post thread I deleted -- the spam in question. It wasn't aimed at you.
