She knows she's with a degenerate gambling scammer, but has made peace with it and decided to go along with promoting the scam. But she also knows that their net worth is always bouncing between 0 and maybe 80k, and that whenever Chrissy does accumulate money, he shoots it off on huge bets, and they're back at square one. And he constantly drags her and Bubs all over the country as props. Gotta be exhausting when you're near 50 years old.
I can't feel bad for Stacy, though. She could have divorced Chrissy, come back home, spend time with Reese (which her ex doesn't seem opposed to anymore), gotten back into nursing, and ask Big Daddy Foster for some help if needed. She wasn't out of options. I guess it's possible Chrissy would have fought it and demanded she stay in Nevada, but that would require him to stay in Nevada himself. The second he moved, she could legally get up and leave herself. Besides, could you see Chrissy demanding 50% custody? No chance he would want the responsibility.
