    Letting people out of jail early due to the Corona

    I don’t understand this logic, isn’t it enough we have to deal with the virus, now we have to deal with unloading criminals on the street?

    Well one of these gems has obviously moved in with a family member on my street. He gotta go.
    Here is his list. I am sorry I have to fuck this asshole up.

    Attempted sexual contact with a minor.
    Aggravated menacing.
    Grand theft.
    Aggravated vehicular homicide
    Drug possession
    Criminal damaging
    Assault
    Burglary

    Dude really needs to find a different family member cuz this isn’t gonna end well.

    Seems like the answer is put people on house arrest who committed non-violent crimes within reason. Like have less than x amount of time on their sentence for a non-violent crime left. You can’t let drug lords out because it’s a non-violent charge or you’ll never get them back. For everyone else they’ll have to deal with it. It’s not like it’s covid free on the outside anyway.

    Yeah it's baffling how they are releasing violent criminals because being exopsed to COVID via prison is "a violation of their rights".

    Talk about misplaced priorities.

    I have no problem with converting nonviolent offenders to house arrest with ankle bracelet, but violent offenders, fuck no.

    Not sure if you are aware, but in NYC, you can now run a million dollar fentanyl empire, and if you get popped they will let you out with no bail these days

    Yup. Even worse, people are getting let out on zero bail who just committed violent hate crimes who.... wait for it.... get right back out and commit more violent hate crimes! Nobody could have foreseen that, huh?

    This was BEFORE the coronavirus epidemic. It's a result of the well-meaning-but-idiotic "no cash bail" reform, which was meant to give equitable treatment to poor people, but instead just results in dangerous criminals being cut loose until convicted.

    Huge fail, and typical shit you see from today's left. The constant quest for equity overrules common sense.

    The recent corona-related form of "compassionate release" is just icing on that cake, except it's occurring in lots of places, not just New York.
