Okay here is situation. Phone owner has been with Verizon for approx 10 years. Has had same phone for at least 6 years. Was eligible for upgrade March 2009.
Tried to negotiate with Retention Dept to get a free Galaxy S III in exchange for a 2 yr contract. Amazon has the deal for 149( I realize the difference between the two companies).
Tried to play the loyalty card. Tried to remind that it has been 10 years with same company. Tried to tell them that I have a son and daughter that will sign up for at least 4 years since they are going away to college so we are talking about 3 customers/accounts, not 1.
My approach is to pound( no pun intended) the retention department until someone breaks down. I received a Samsung Infuse a month after it came out for free cause i signed a 2 yr contract. I realize that this phone just came out 2 weeks ago, but in 2 months its going to end up being half price.
Any tips on seasoned negotiators? I'm looking at you Druff. Please respond if you have proven approaches. Thanks.
