    Getting around paywalls

Paywalls are a very annoying part of browsing the net, and I find them increasing in frequency. While I do not mind paying for a service, I get mad when I am enticed into clicking an article just to see I can't read it without paying.

Never mind the moral objections though, let's get around it!

To get around many paywalls, simply add this to the beginning of the URL: http://facebook.com/l.php?u=

Then Facebook will give you a little warning message, and you click on Follow Link.

There is also a site called outline.com which is used both to dodge paywalls and to strip the clutter/ads from the sites. Keep that one in your back pocket as well!

Finally, for sites with a free article limit, it is quite easy to get around. Either clear your cookies and close/reopen your browser, or just browse those articles in incognito/private mode, and those limits will not apply.

This still works sometimes but does not always work.

If you need to browse a site which gives you a certain number of free articles per month, then you will want to do so in Incognito Mode.

However many sites won't let you read in Incognito Mode anymore.

    No problem!

Here's how to turn off detection of Incognito Mode: https://pokerfraudalert.com/forum/sh...tion-in-Chrome

Above fix won't work for many sites now.

However, there is a new Chrome extension which accomplishes incognito mode detection blocking!

Make sure to follow instructions for installation!

It only works on a few websites now.
Not very useful anymore because most websites ban it.

Outline.com - says it is "non supported" and it will not work.

Yes you are correct XFactor. outline.com is no longer a good way to dodge paywalls.

Things constantly change and you need to keep up with the times to defeat technology.

Currently the best option is the Google Chrome extension I posted, and then go into incognito mode to view articles.
