    Recap for 5/25/2018

    Starting Bankroll = $4,774.90

    So all my work went for nothing at Evangeline as it rained and track came up sloppy and turf racing was moved to main track.

    My horse at Canterbury I did not bet because he was under 2-1 up until they left the gate and I needed 2-1 or better. He ended up running 6th I believe .

    The Ruidoso wagers where the highlight of the day as they where all posted and as usual my trainer that I follow did not let me down . I invested $225.00 doing $5.00 W, P, S wagers on every horse he had racing today for a total of 15 races . The return was $482.00 for a net profit of $257.00

    Helping that number was a 46-1 Bomb. Results are in original post .

    So Starting Bankroll = $4,774.90

    Profit =$257.00

    Ending Bankroll = $5,031.90

    Good Luck

    Gookie,

    Do you follow Thistledown much? My dad was friends with Danny Weiler who was a top jokey there for years. Last I heard he was training horses but could be dead now.

    Thistle is not really in my day to day schedule . I do look at it sometimes on off days . You can search Danny at equibase to see if he is still actively training

She is all wide, late sweep, close. Much in the Zenyatta mode. Some people knock the Down Under ponies but she has run out 20 million in her streak.

    Video below is her gutting a G1 winner on a lead, deep stretch. Pissing on the field. Stretch run starts at 1:27. Greatest Mare of all time, creeping in on greatest ever.

    A horse I love seeing old footage of is Silky Sullivan. In the grand scheme of things he wasn’t a great champion but what a thrill to see a horse go from 40 or 50 lengths back to win it.

    Going to throw out a few picks today.

    3rd at Belmont
    - This is a maiden claiming race. The chalk is going to be the #5 but he's going to go off at odds to low to get my money. He is winless in 12 starts and I think some other horses stand a great shot at the upset while giving great value. I'm going to bet on the #6 GO LUCKY He's taking a drop in class and they are stretching him out today. He's also been on the board in all 5 starts this year. A bit of a longshot. Morning line of 8/1.

    7th at Belmont Going with another longshot here. To be honest there really isn't a horse in this race that stands out to me. The weak 5/2 morning line favorite doesn't impress, I am going with #4 Breezy Gal. She had a decent showing last race in her turf debut. Went real wide though and weakened. They are bringing her back in a shorter race and I see great value at 15/1 in the morning line.

    That's it for now...headed to work. I'm going to try and look over the card at Santa Anita and add some picks later in the day.

    We had a sprinter called Black Caviar that was undefeated. She won 25 straight of which 15 were group 1 races. They even sent her to Royal Ascot and she won the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

    Winx is even better, she's not just a sprinter like Black Caviar which makes her 18 group 1 wins even better. Probably the best horse in the world right now.

    Marching Forward today as I showed a nice little profit yesterday even after my main card got rained out . Today I am using the same angle as yesterday with my Quarter horse trainer whom I have loyally been betting since 2003 . Ruidoso Downs is having there Ruidoso Futurity Trials there was 16 yesterday and 16 more today Starting at 11:00 am PST. These picks are a volume play meaning I have no personal information I play them regardless of odds at $5.00 W, P, S . What I can tell you is this guy knows his horses and people always tend to overlook him in big race trials even though he is a leading trainer. The Picks are as follows. Using this method yesterday we picked up a nice $257.00 Profit.

    Ruidoso Downs 5-26-18

    Race #1 = 4 (Out)
    Race #2 = 9 (3rd) $4.00
    Race #3 = 6 (2nd) $9.60----$5.80
    Race #4 = 2 (Out)
    Race #5 = 6 (Out)
    Race #6 = 7 (2nd) $4.00----$3.00
    Race #7 = 2 (Out)
    Race #9 = 7 (1st) $15.20----$8.40----$5.40
    Race#10 = 9 (Out)
    Race#12 = 7 (Out)
    Race#14 = 8 (Out)
    Race#15 = 1 (Out)
    Race#16 = 9 (Out)

    Sun Ray Park 12:15 PST

    Race #1 = 8 (out)
    Race #4 = 4 (out)

    Tonight at Evangeline Downs it is Louisiana Jackpot Night . This means the card changes quite a bit as there a bunch of stakes races . They are offering a 50k guaranteed Pick 4 pool starting in race 4 . I usually stay away from this card for the sole reason that you get a bunch of shippers and short price horses but I will take a small stab at this sequence .

    Race #4 = 4 =============== Single gets through ($3.00)

    Race #5 = 6-7===============Leg Two in the books #7 ($7.00)

    Race #6 = 1-4-5-6-7=============Leg Three #5 wins (Note #7 was scratched So we are now x 2 ) ($3.80)

    Race #7 = 2-3-7-10-11===========Leg Four Winner #3 ($5.80)

    Payout = $48.25 x 2 Total Payback $96.50

    .50 Cent Base wager ticket cost $25.00

    1st at Santa Anita The #6 Ralis has a ton of back class but hasn't raced in a year. Should get a decent price on this horse. All About Mike has been fairly impressive lately and is the only real front runner in the race. He may be able to steal it easily if no one runs with him. Not a race worth investing much in. I'm putting $10 to Win on Ralis and a $5 2,6 EXB

    Recap for 5/26/2018 and the week

    Today ended up with a small loss even though we hit a pick 4 . The races at Ruidoso only produced one winner and three Itm others . The pick 4 shockingly paid decent even with basically four chalks in the sequence . Interesting side not was the 8th race at Evangeline had a minus show pool and a heavy favorite who was on a five race winning streak. The horse ran 4th and the payouts where nutzo . The 2nd choice in the ML at 3-1 went off at 8-1 and I never saw it coming or we could have made a decent profit . Reason being is the pick 5 was very hittable I certainly would of had that horse in my sequence and as I sit and write this hindsight is certainly 20/20.

    So here is the recap

    Starting Bankroll $5,031.90

    Ending Bankroll $4,991.90

    So overall for the week we wagered $701.60

    With a Net loss of $8.10

    In some countries that's like winning

    I will be back at it starting Wednesday 5/30/2018

    Hope everybody has a great holiday weekend

    Good Luck

    pretty much a sham that winstar isn't going to race audible in the belmont because they own justify.

    i'm sure there's some choice kickbacks going on here as well.

    horse racing should be in bigger trouble once sports betting is mainstream as well

    Horse racing has been abandoned for years Mulva. Many factors go in to the downfall of the sport . The people that run the tracks are out of touch with the current gambling market. Most tracks are now owned by corporations whom have casinos attached to the track. The horseman all voted to allow this to happen. If you took casinos out of racetracks the sport would be about dead. The penny slots inflate the purses yet the product gets worse not better .

    As far as Audible not running in the Belmont that should be a huge clue to everybody wagering on the race . If winstar is not racing Audible it is not because they think he can't beat Justify . It is because they think he CAN beat him . I don't think Justify has any chance to win that race to begin with .

    Good Luck

    Good luck with your thread Gookie! As a diehard racing fan myself, it's easy to tell that you're a knowledgeable sophisticated player. Win or lose this time, playing pick 6 pools where other bettors have built up the pool is long term +EV. On many exotic pools we're looking at a 25% takeout.

    Wrong! Abandoned I think not

    Have not had any plays to post and have been involved in other projects such as it's the biggest time of the year for poker.

    WTF, you have been so busy with poker the last 8 weeks you can't take a few minutes to walk over to the tote and buy a horse racing program and make a couple bets? You made this thread to sound like you were some baller gambler, reality is you are down like 20 bucks in three months, you are a stiff.

    Wow! I made this thread so people could follow along and fade my picks if they choose to do so. Unfortunately for 2 1/2 months out of the year as difficult as it may seem to you I am busy with poker. I've not made a horse wager since my last post.

    Certainly this must baffle a person such as yourself but some of us on this forum actually have discipline and adhere to strictly enforced wagering rules and platforms that have shown profit for decades.

    I apologise that my career has in someway ruined your month.

    Note when I stopped wagering and then connect that with travel and dates for WSOP. If you can connect that together you will surely see why I'm busy

    Another month and not ONE bet. Not even a $2 Trifecta wheel. LOL. I guess you are still playing high stakes poker in Vegas.

    Nothing to see here folks, just another abandoned thread on PFA.
