Probably not, but I'm convinced that 2-year-old (and maybe some of the other younger kids) were products of incest.

There's just about a zero point zero chance that a 47-year-old mom was able to have a natural child.
Incest? call it what it is - rape.

So what causes the kids to look like that?
Look at the father closely. He's just kind of an ugly dude with a weird look himself, and it's kind of a strong look to where a lot of the kids got it.

The kids also were not raised in a healthy environment, as evidenced by the fact that it looks like many of them didn't really develop properly into adulthood.

I don't believe that the parents are related.

I do believe that the dad raped/impregnated one of the daughters to have the last child (who honestly looks the strangest of the bunch, if you look closely).

Women who have a lot of children tend to stay fertile for longer, but not to age 47. It is extremely unlikely to have a successful natural pregnancy at that age. It's even more difficult when the father is also over 40, as the sperm decline somewhat in quality at that age. In all of my life, the oldest mother of a newborn I've ever met (who had a natural pregnancy) was 44, but the father was in his late 20s.

I suppose there is some chance that the pregnancy could have been an IVF one with a donor egg, but that's expensive, and the family seemingly has had financial issues.

Happened in California so parents most likely will be sent for "treatment."

Every day there is a story about parents and just absolutely horrible neglect. For example, throwing and killing the baby because she is crying too much, sexual assault, torture of infants, etc. How does a human get like this ? If you are wired this way, there is no hope for rehabilitation imo. They should all be executed even in cases where the victim isnt killed.

How do people that oppose the death penalty reason that these monsters should be allowed to live? Why exactly?

Everyone of these kids in the picture could be cast for some horror film without makeup.

Here are the two parents arrested:

Here is one of their creepy family photos:

Here is the Facebook page (which I'm assuming will be remomved soon enough): https://www.facebook.com/davidlouise.turpin

David and Louise Turpin lived in Perris, CA, which is kind of between Riverside and San Diego.

They chained the kids to beds, basically never let them outside, and didn't feed them well. Some of the kids are as old as 29 (!!), but all of them have a juvenile appearance.

Their home was listed as a private school, presumably so they could get away with not sending the children to any school and not raise any questions.

They were caught because of one the girls escaped, then called police on a cell phone she found in the house.

It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

Parents are deeply religious. God called them to have that many kids.

Would pay good money to watch just 2 hyenas slowly eat em alive at the Vegas hockey arena.
“I believe the simplest explanation is, there is no God. No one created the universe and no one directs our fate. This leads me to a profound realization that there probably is no heaven and no afterlife either. We have this one life to appreciate the grand design of the universe and for that, I am extremely grateful.”

So this family is the bottom of the barrel, off the charts crazy. That being said who would you rather have as next door neighbors, them or twelve Somali or Haitian immigrants? Don't answer, it's a no brainer All these pro third world immigration supporters are counting on the fact that the newly arrived immigrants probably won't move in next door.

I couldn't help but notice Druff shares this almost burning desire to "crackdown" on law breakers. It really sounds like a great idea and you guys certainly aren't the first to share this view.

It didn't work, it was a unmitigated disaster. I think a better plan would be halt the flood of third world immigrants.
Reminder: We already have the largest prison population in the world.

Is it possible that this desire to "crackdown" may be genetic? Probably, the same could be said for IQ/higher education and making money. So it may be wise to consciously override that desire to crackdown and quit being so tight (Druff) and share some of that money with the outside world.

Cliffs: Genes matter, we're not created equal so quit with the refugees and spread the wealth, hagd.

Not talking about this case specifically regarding the death penalty, but I'd hate for a situation where someone who is not guilty to be sentenced to death. I mean, could you imagine if you were set up by someone, wrongfully accused, or whatever happens and all of a sudden you're on death row, even though you're innocent? I don't know a bunch about the justice system, but it also seems like if someone is in a situation where they are more likely going to be found guilty (even if they're innocent), they'll be more likely to make a plea deal in exchange for a confession. "If you don't confess, we'll probably kill you. If you do confess, you'll just serve the rest of your life in prison."

When someone is guilty (which I'd think is like 99%+ of the time, at least for death penalty cases since I think the case needs to basically be a 'slam dunk' for the prosecutors), it just seems completely barbaric to me. I mean, there's no benefit to killing someone when you can just let them rot in prison for the rest of their life. Okay, the small benefit is it'll be cheaper to strap 'em to the chair instead of feeding/housing/etc. for however many more years....as well as the possibility of them escaping prison and/or being a fuckup in prison, although AFAIK, prisoners in that situation are typically in solitary confinement and can't really do shit, like kill another prison, fights, etc.

As far as this case, there hasn't been enough information released or at least I haven't read enough information on this case, for me to have an opinion in that way. The facts should be coming out in due time and I don't think it's fair to make judgement before all information is known. It's easy to say "They did this, so they go to prison forever / death penalty", sure, but there's so much unknown, like if there were mental problems with the parents, perhaps one of the parents was in control and the other one was a victim like the children were, or one parent threatened the other (although idk how it'd go on for so long....then again, I don't think we even know how long it was going on), or some other unknowable piece of information we don't know about.

And no, I'm not a liberal. Liberalism is a disease. I just think we need ALL the information before judgement is made (not that I'm defending the parents).

First off, RS_ isn't a dupe. He's from my other forum (vegascasinotalk.com).

I think it's just about a slam dunk the parents are guilty. Provided that they didn't sexually abuse the children, I wouldn't wish for the death penalty on them (they wouldn't get it anyway), but life in prison would be appropriate provided that the appearance of the situation is true.

I mean, we have 13 kids, apparently malnourished and underdeveloped, with at least three of them verified to have been chained to furniture in filthy conditions. That was seen by police, and the parents could not explain it.

There's a reason that none of them ever left home, and why the 17-year-old felt the need to ESCAPE and turn her own parents in.

The police have also reported that the children all said they were "starving" when the police came.

I don't care if somehow the parents can be declared mentally ill. They were competent enough to cover this up from being known for a long period of time. That wasn't an accident. There's also a reason they were shackling some of the kids to furniture. They were probably worried about them escaping and telling the world about what was going on there. An actual insane person doesn't understand that what he's doing is wrong, and thus doesn't take steps to avoid getting caught.

I cannot imagine a scenario where the parents aren't guilty, except perhaps if the mother was being threatened/intimidated by the father into going along with it.

I guess it's also possible that the mother was mentally ill, and was manipulated by the father into going along with the entire scheme. But the kids should be able to shed some light upon that.

Reminds me a bit of the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping situation, where both adults involved in the kidnapping claimed to be mentally ill once caught. The female apparently really was mentally ill, and also refused to take medication to cure it. The state actually force-medicated her, at which point she cooperated and got a reduced sentence. The male perpetrator did his best to feign mental illness, including at the trial, but no one bought it. He engaged in sophisticated enough planning to avoid getting caught that it was clear he knew exactly what he was doing. He was sentenced to life.

This also has some similarity to the Jaycee Dugard case. It involved a kidnapping, but Jaycee was secretly living in a tent in the kidnapper's backyard for about 15 years, and repeatedly raped by the kidnapper, who fathered two children with her. Amazingly, his wife was also present during all of this, and helped cover everything up. The wife ended up cooperating and pleading guilty, and they gave her 36 years in prison instead of life, while the man got life.

This one doesn't involve any kidnappings, but given the number of children involved, and given that I can't imagine any logical explanation for any of this, I'm guessing the father will end up with life in prison (or a long enough sentence to be equivalent, given his age), and perhaps the mom will get a few decades in prison, if it's shown that she was more going along with it rather than leading it.

But honestly, short of legit insanity, they both deserve life for this.
