Speaking of Bellagio place seems to be going downhill. I spent some time at the Bellagio years ago and visited for a few days recently. Wow things that have changed.

The quarterly display with the flowers. The flowers seem lower quality/generic. It used to look like a small fortune was spent there every time. This time it looked like the flowers could have easily come from Wal-Mart.

They have added carpet to the main path through the casino. There used to be nice stone work. They would polish this every morning at around 5am. Now they have carpet covering all this. Not sure why ? Cracks? They polished so much the stone was worn away? Seems like they could have just elected to not polish the floor constantly... doh

They appear to be removing the escalator/walkway that goes from the front door to the strip. It was all closed off and covered up. I'm fine with this, but definitely a step down in terms of classy.

The poker room now has you clock in for comps like any other low rent joint. I guess that is not necessarily bad.

30/60 seems to have become 20/40, because the 40/80 game was super tough and nothing I cared to play to try and win money. Basically limit poker is on its last legs in Vegas.

hmm nearly 14 months to the day the last incident like that happened.. I was in Vegas when that clown fired at the Bellagio Fountain back the end of Jan 2016, (I believe it was the same night that Drexel came on spontaneously and did an into the night and morning show) and somehow Metro PD didn't just drop his ass via a few well placed 9mms doubletapped .. (which would've happened here in AZ no question). Was waiting for the damn Deuce to go downtown to Fremont that night and couldn't figre out what was going on until I got a weird text on my phone about an incident at the Bellagio which had shut down the strip and was rerouting traffic.

This thread was created regarding the Rolex store robbery at the Bellagio. Shots were reported fired, but apparently that was false. No shots were fired.

That occurred yesterday.

However, TODAY, there was a shooting on a bus near the Cosmo. Two people were shot, and one of them died.

These are unrelated.

Suspects flee after jewelry store robbery at Bellagio

Burglars armed with sledgehammers smashed the glass entrance of a high-end jewelry store at the Bellagio early today, stealing items, fleeing and prompting authorities to lockdown parts of the property, according to Metro Police.

There was no gunfire, which police initially believed to be the case, and no one was injured, Lt. Carlos Hank said this morning.

At least three “well dressed” suspects made their way into the jewelry store, which was seemingly closed for the night, and broke their way into it, stealing “valuable” items. Police responded about 12:50 p.m, Hank said.

The suspects proceeded to the parking garage and tried to drive away, but their vehicle wouldn’t start, Hank said. They continued on foot and tried to carjack a driver at an undisclosed location. They ran when that effort also was unsuccessful, he said.

Several people had been detained and were being questioned, but Hank couldn’t confirm any arrests as of 4:15 a.m.

The lockdown, which included the casino and the parking garage were shut down for at least an hour as officers secured the scene and made sure no one was injured, Hank said.

A social media post from a Bellagio patron after the robbery shows what appears to be person wearing a pig mask stationed outside a Rolex store at the Bellagio holding what appeared to be a sledgehammer.

“Literally just witnessed an armed robber in a pig mask at a Rolex store at the Bellagio & then his arrest...,” she wrote.

Hank said he heard of reports of the pig mask, but couldn’t confirm that the tweet was authentic as he hadn’t personally seen it or surveillance images.

Marked Metro squad vehicles and robbery detectives remained at the scene about 4:45 a.m.
