Caesars properties to start charging for parking in Vegas on December 19, 2016

    http://www.ktnv.com/news/caesars-ann...g-in-las-vegas

    http://caesarslasvegas.mediaroom.com...gas-Properties

    Cliffs:

    - On December 19, The LINQ and Harrah's will start charging for valet parking

    - In early 2017, all Vegas Caesars properties will start charging for self parking AND valet parking, except for the Rio.

    - The Rio will continue providing free parking.

    - Platinum and above Total Rewards cardholders will get parking for free, similar to how MGM properties give free parking for Pearl and above cardholders.

    - Local Las Vegas residents (with ID) will also get free parking. This is a bit different than MGM, which only grandfathered such a benefit for less than a year.

A way to avoid these charges is to sign up for the free Total Rewards Credit Card, which gives you auto-Platinum status: https://www.totalrewards.com/content...ml?rd=CL1_visa

I am in and out so no expert.

MGM You can flash your Nevada ID and it's a free pass. At least to the end of the year. You can tell me what next.

You can go to the cage and show your action and get it validated.

Paying for parking as an issue separates the hicks from those who come from real cities where parking fees are a way of life.

Wynn Resorts to join ranks of pay-for-parking
    http://www.reviewjournal.com/busines...ks-pay-parking

“Las Vegas Sands has no plans to charge for parking at our Las Vegas properties,” said Ron Reese, a spokesman for the company that operates The Venetian and the Palazzo on the Strip.
“Currently we have no plans to charge for parking at our locals properties, The Orleans, Gold Coast, Suncoast, Sam’s Town, Eldorado, Jokers Wild and Aliante,” said David Strow, a Boyd spokesman.

Fuck MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment.

Perhaps Caesars, MGM, Wynn and other Las Vegas casinos that are starting to charge for parking will bring back "Free Parking" chips. Back in the 1950's and 1960's a few of the Downtown Las Vegas casinos, like the Pioneer Club and the California Club, offered patrons the chips shown below to lure them into their casinos (both sides shown). The chips could be used for free parking, or a free $1 bet on the craps, blackjack, or roulette tables. It's a nice thought, anyway.

I'm heading to Las Vegas in June for the WSOP. Because I rent a car and like to bounce around to several poker rooms when I'm in town, I followed the forum advise and got both the Caesars and MGM credit cards as one of the benefits is free parking. Now that the pay-for-parking systems are installed at the properties, does anyone have experience actually using these credit cards? Are they inserted at the entrance gate? Do I have to show them at the Players Club desk, get a new players card, and then somehow use that after I'm inside the casino? Any firsthand knowledge would be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, you automatically are granted the status level which gets free parking. So you need to get a Players Card. And if you don't have one when you pull in, you need to take a ticket for parking and then get the Players Card while you're in there, and use it on the way out. (Have an attendant help you!)

The credit cards themselves should not be inserted.
