    A Game Of Thrones THREAD

I am a huge fan of A Game of Thrones and looking forward to season two on April 1st. Having looked at the trailers it seems that it has retained the grittiness of season 1 and staying faithfull to the book(s).

Anyone else hyped for this ?

Will people be chosing to watch episode by episode or are you going to wait and donwload in blocks of episodes via torrents ?

    Living Card Game

Been playing the AGOT LCG for sometime now , anyone else on the this forum who plays the LCG ? Would be interested to hear form those who do and the preffered house/ type that is a preference.

I have had most success with a Targeryan deck using 65 cards ( excluding plot ) with a strong inclination towards a power grab although i am aware in a tourney scanario these type of decks do all always fair so well as they are reliant on getting certain cards out in a very quick space of time. Any other custom deck suggestions ?

    Congratulations to Druff

Oh before i forget, congratulations on the site Druff , I hope it really does well and at last provides a 'proper' spiritual home again. Will miss DD and the dynamic that USED to exist but onwards and upwards i guess !

Next week's episode is already floating around in the wild, got releases on HBO-GO in Europe or some shit. Good stuff.

Good viewer guide here, helps a lot in keeping track of who's who and what's where.

First episode lived up to expectations and then some. I officially am putting this show in my all time top 5 greatest shows ever. Thank the Gods for HBO!

Wow, I guess the following excerpt from my blog is going to piss a lot of you off. I was writing about my perspective on 'American' things while living abroad for the last year. I have since finished season one and like it a little bit more but still stand by what I wrote:

    TV:

I have heard the most about Game of Thrones and Walking Dead from the internets throughout the last year and am currently halfway through the former. The medieval fantasy genre never really appealed to me; I do like Lord of the Rings but found the movies a bit monotonous until I read the trilogy. I don't know if it’s the antiquated English or the seemingly endless horseback jaunts through forests but anything medieval usually sets my brain into full-blown ADD mode. My initial impression of Game of Thrones is that it feels like fan fiction written by a sixteen year old whose primary interests in life are fantasy RPG's, movies chock full of gratuitous violence like Braveheart and 300 and explicit pornography. *Spolier Alert* Over the first six episodes I have witnessed a horse decapitation, an eight year old being breastfed and Tommy Carcetti from The Wire ‘tutoring’ a pair of prostitutes while metaphorically musing on the meaning of life. It's safe to say that I don't really see the appeal to anyone over twenty. I might give Walking Dead another chance when I run out of other things to watch but was bored after the first three episodes. I need more than zombie gore to stay entertained.

Wow sorry to hear that. If your looking for a really good USA TV sitcom, I don't think you would be disappointed in Sons of Anarchy.

I also have an opinion on why many of us Americans, may feel differently than most Europeans, about these kind of medieval fantasies. Just don't have time now. Try SOA though, I would be shocked to hear you don't like it.

Sons of Anarchy isn't a Sitcom, its a drama, Sitcom means situational comedy. The Big Bang Theory, Roseanne, etc are sitcoms... But it is a great recommendation for a show also...

    Justified
Lights Out (if it comes back)
    Breaking Bad

Yea I know what a sitcom is. Why I said Sitcom? No clue, but I think I meant Series. I'm really not a fan of Breaking Bad. Never really got into it.

Can't wait until season two gets into it and stuff starts happening. It will be exciting to watch Robb's character progress and see where they take it!
