this brings it up to 42 confirmed, but I keep hearing 46.... I know JRB says he is in, so are the other 3, Lederer, Ferguson and Bitar trying to win enough to repay US players????

Also from that link, to help identify some of the previously unidentified...

"In addition, CARLOS NAHAS will take his seat in this prestigious event after winning the Loto Quebec/Casino Montreal satellite seat that was previously announced. Carlos’ friend KEITH HAMILTON had originally won the right to participate in the final satellite step, which was a poker tournament at Casino Montreal. However, Hamilton had initially won his step seat via a slot tournament. Unfamiliar with the game of poker, he had his friend Nahas play the poker tournament for him. And play Nahas did. He won the poker tournament, that included several notable professional poker players, and thus Nahas will take his seat in the BIG ONE FOR ONE DROP as Hamilton has decided to keep the winning formula intact.

GIOVANNI “Malibu” GUARASCIO has been confirmed as the official seat for what had previously been listed as the “Montreal private citizen group (Sean O’Donnell).”

FRÉDÉRIC BANJOUT, previously listed as “Anonymous French Businessman” is now confirmed as the player for that previously announced seat."

    Viffer has some serious money.

Yet, does anyone else feel like this tournament is a slap in the face to the people who have lost their money? We all sit around and wait for our money, while the tops pro's for those sites are buying into a 1 Million dollar tourney. I dunno it really bothers me for some reason.
Of all the money e'er I had, I spent it in good company

I have a weird feeling Guy is backing these guys to bring some color and excitement to the tourney. It's likely he has 90% of Duhamel, and now maybe Viffer and JRB (perhaps others), regardless of the outcome it's a win for Guy, and realistically the money doesn't matter one drop to him.

What I mean is if they cash he makes out like a bandit, and if they don't who cares, it's only $3-$5 million for a billionaire and a chunk of the money goes to his charity.

I guess my hatred for Peat is showing. I have won a few state titles in billiards and follow the game closely. His scummy antics in pool and his negligence to pay off debts is well known in that part of the world. Regardless, I give him credit for his cash game ability but a tournament player he is not. I seriously doubt he has a million lying around to back himself in this. I agree with you wholeheartedly on the point that people that have money tied up on FTP should obviously be quite irate that anyone associated with that company plays in this or any other event for that matter. Thanks again Templar.

May sound weird but I think JRB would be way more +ev in this tournament than Viffer.

Yeah there is something about this event that just seems really crass given what's happened in the last year in the poker world, perhaps that's why they are giving so much to charity to try to deflect criticism but it still seems wrong somehow.

Viffer the stiffer...I read some huge ass post on 2+2 about him supposedly stiffing some pool player for like 50k or some shit, can't remember the exact amount. Anyway motherfuckers were throwing down and shit, one guy was ready to bet his whole roll that Viffer had not stiffed the guy and some college kid wanting to bet his life savings on viffer, it was pretty fucking hilarious.

Yea lol, that one was for 50k. There have been numerous other instances of him angle-shooting in pool or not paying. He is a lousy pool player regardless of his claims lol. Scott Frost (one of the best one-pocket players around) was spotting him something like 19-4, there is a video on the match floating around. His shadiness isn't limited to pool only. Sonatine said it best a few posts ago. As Steve-O said also, it does make quite a bit of sense for Guy to back as many players as he can, all he cares about is the exposure to his charity.
