america is not feeling what romney stood for, like at all, is what trump's ascension to relevance is teaching us. there would be token opposition along the usual party lines but no, romney would do even worse against hillary.

Romney outperformed most of the Republican senate candidates, so he was somehow likable. His overall favorable numbers were and are much better than Hillary. I expect Hills to approach 400 electoral votes against Trump where that would be impossible against a generic Republican. Romney is significantly more popular than generic. Maybe not now since he's been ragging on Trump, but before Trump he was popular.

I completely agree that his policies are not at all popular, but I don't know how much that matters. He, personally, is not incredibly unpopular. Same can't be said for the two candidates in it now.

I wonder if that's due to the unprecedented negative publicity blitz from the ... well.. whatever the right wing is today. Trump, etc. Obama v Romney was a pretty civilized affair after all. So much of the negative press about Hillary is so ludicrously forced at this point that it makes it almost impossible to point out her actual flaws without sounding like you have a Gadsden flag themed shrine in your closet.
