Not my theory. I said that's what they think. But they do have some reason to think that way. It's hard to live a better life without exposure to a better life, role models to make it apparent that they can do that too. That's not only true of race. It's true for poor whites. It's why kids rarely exceed the educational attainment of their parents. It's why women are still underrepresented in corporate boardrooms and in the sciences.
