Just booked a trip to MTL and gonna play at Playground next weekend for their 100k. 4 star hotel on Rue Sherbrooke for $105 CAD a night

If oil goes to $20 I by the summer I'll probably go then, too. Go baby go!

No taxes on winning is way better than a low exchange rate.

I spent most of 2015 driving coast-to-coast across Canada and wouldn't say prices for food and goods are much cheaper than the US. Denominated in US dollars, things have just gone from expensive to maybe slightly below average. Gas and alcohol still cost way more.

One thing that is considerably better value up there is real estate, with the exception of Vancouver due to Chinese pumping up the market with smuggled cash.

Don't know about alcohol. Gasoline I agree is terrible in Canada.

However, I did find lower prices with car rentals, restaurants, and hotels, thanks to the summer 2015 exchange rate.

I mentioned the tourism thing because they actually had the strongest tourism year ever in 2015 for the currency reason, and they were actually struggling with tourism in the years prior where the CAD had been strong against the USD (remember when it was at parity?)

Canadians: Are you noticing terrible grocery prices like the article claims? Or just on items imported from the US?
You're so full of shit you can't even stand yourself.

You don't think I knew that exports are affected by a weak dollar?

    Come on.

That's like the most obvious of obvious effects of a falling currency.

I don't. Guilty as charged. Then again I don't know shit either about economics given my recent track record. I apologize for leaking blood from my anus all over your forum.
