I cant express in words how excited I am about this. Not that its over yet and Im probably jinxing it like a dumbass but I have been waiting for the Cubs to get it done my entire life. Most years they suck, sometimes they make the playoffs & then disappoint again. 5-3 lead against the fuckin Marlins in 03 in game 7 and they take a heaping shit on the field. Then big ass fail in 07 and 08 in the nlds.
I thought there was something about this team I liked & have watched almost every game. I know there are still 2 innings to go but I think we got this one. Still the NLCS awaits but I am not scared of the Dodgers or Mets. Cubs havent won the NL in 70 years!!!
My first baseball game ever was at Wrigley w/my dad in an 84 playoff game. He wasnt a rich man but wanted to take his young boy to a Cubs game & thought the playoffs was a great place to start. I went to a lot of games with him in the years after. My dad died way too early (no pooh jokes plz) & when I watch the Cubs I feel like he is watching with me. Really hope they do it this time. I think its coming.
It's hilarious that we as a society think everyone can be a dr, a lawyer, an engineer. Some people are just fucking stupid. Why can't we just accept that?

You have a decent team now, but they are the Cubs, they will find a way to fuck it up.
Cubs have done very well against the Mets this year. They havent done well against LA, however, the LA pitching situation could be all screwy, with guys not having a lot of rest and the studs having just pitched. Cubs are going to get some nice rest for a few days and have their studs all set to go.
