I have no doubt that J.J. Abrams made a great action movie as good as Star Trek.

It's the story he will fuck up.

The beginning involving the blue lightsaber that Luke Skywalker lost during The Empire Strikes Back.

The back story involving the past 30 years of what happened to Han Solo, Chewbacca, Princess Leia and Luke Skywalker.

Just put the story of Star Wars out of your mind and enjoy it for what it now is...A mindless action/sci-fi film.

And where I have hope is Mickey Mouse didn't just turn over his $4B asset to JJ for him to do with whatever the fuck he wants with it. This script has been reviewed and signed off by the best of writers is my best guess.

Sadly, I share XFactor's pessimism. With Abrams in the driver's seat, all bets are off. He has demonstrated time and again that he cares far more about spectacular visuals than coherent stories and meaningful human interactions. In that way he has a lot in common with George Lucas.

I guess we will find out soon enough. I'll freely admit that the Mouse protecting his $4B investment Can't be considered a good thing all around. Im confidant Mickey is going to protect us from a Phantom Menace level POS. That fact will also in all likelihood stop us from seeing anything on the level of Empire.

My prediction: It will be an enormous financial success. People who have never seen Star Wars will love it. Brand loyal cuckolds who enjoyed the prequels will also love it. There will be lots of fan service, call backs, and cool action scenes. It won't be a terrible movie. It won't be great either.

If there's a movie I really want to see, I wait at least 2 weeks and try to go in the afternoon or a week night. Crowds at the movies in 2015 means tons of cell phone assholes and tons of people carrying on conversations.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is better than the prequels and it has some real good special effects and the story is somewhat believable but it's not the best movie of the year.


The best action/sci-fi movie of 2015 was Mad Max: Fury Road.

It's not the greatest movie ever made. But it was sure the fuck about a far away from a phantom menace disaster as you could get.

not a star wars geek at all.. never have been. but the movie was pretty awesome. i was surprised only had like 30 people in theater too.. still had couple people clap after certain scenes (really? lol)

For sure and arguably the best. It was pretty nonstop action. Episode 8 will also be GOD but WTF about waiting till 2017?
