    Buckle up

    We're heading to the stars!

Always fascinated me the idea of us putting some of Einstein's theories into practice.

I remember somebody on here said we've peaked in the way of technology. And i couldn't be arsed logging in at the time to tell whoever it was how wrong that was. Because we haven't even scratched the fucking surface when it comes to technology.

Because if it can be done on paper. Then it doesn't matter how crazy or impossible it might sound...... WE WILL eventually make it happen.

Shame non of us will be around for these missions. But future generations will for sure be planet hopping 'someday'.

The photon laser based spacecraft is legit as the speed constantly increases with zero friction. They could use the sun to propel the craft but only away from it. Lasers would solve that issue. Unfortunately at these speeds the brake pads would have to be gargantuan.

Separate from using such tech to save the Earth from a planet killer, this is the possibility that most interested me:

According to Lubin, a professor of physics at UCSB, manipulating the speed of a spinning asteroid offers another important possibility in space: the ability to explore, capture and mine asteroids.
    Space ka-ching!!!

If you know anything about UCSB, this is very surprising news.
