I took the text below from the comments section of the article in question. While I do think the threat from terrorists is real, I believe people in power are using it as an excuse to shred the constitution and spy on regular citizens with impunity.

Tangos (aka terrorists) don't use ANY of this new-fangled crap we use daily. Why? Because most of it is WAY over their heads and they KNOW that all of the intelligence agencies are listening (esp. Mossad). Haven't you people been listening? What did the USN Seal team at Abbottabad discover about how the #1 Al-Qaida man was communicating with his henchmen? Pay attention to the news! It wasn't Skype or even a cell phone. It was LOW TECH!!!
